陸奥（むつ）・奥州（おうしゅう）は東北地方の旧国名・地域呼称。近世の陸奥は現在の青森・岩手・宮城・福島などにまたがり、1868年の分国後の陸奥より広い。引用された古代の史料では、その時代の範囲で読む必要がある。
