厚岸場所の海岸の地名。『蝦夷草紙』では国後からロシア人が来航し、松前の役人と交易について会見した場所とする。人名として扱う根拠は当該箇所にない。
史料が土地・山の名称として記す用例。音写から語源を確定することはできない。
