『続日本紀』の霊亀元年（715）の記事を引く箇所に現れる古代の村名。邑良志別君宇蘇弥菜らが郡家を建て、編戸の民となることを願う場所として記される。近世北海道の集落名とは分けて扱う。
名称の言語的由来は未確認。
