津軽海峡を渡る際の潮筋の名称。北海道南端の白神岬周辺との関係が考えられる。『北海随筆』はタツヒ・中の湖とともに、風が弱いと渡り切れず流される三つの潮流を挙げる。
名称の言語的由来は未確認。
