国縫（くんぬい）方面の山。『蝦夷草紙』ではセンケン山などと並ぶ金の産地として挙げる。現在の長万部町国縫付近を地理的な手掛かりとするが、採掘地点は別途確認が要る。
名称の言語的由来は未確認。
