『蝦夷草紙』の余糧の記事にある択捉島の地名。白く餅のようで甘い食物を貯え食べる場所として記す。現行の翻刻には「ショツネチヤ」などの形があり、原本の字形の照合が要る。
名称の言語的由来は未確認。
