『蝦夷草紙』が西蝦夷地の山として挙げる。地蔵を安置する岩窟に鍾乳石があるとの記事もあり、現在の北海道せたな町大成区の太田山方面が候補。山名表記と祠・岩窟の所在地を併せて検討する。
