『蝦夷草紙』で奥山に温泉があり、その傍の湧水が有害と伝えられる村。国文学研究資料館本は「尻内」、龍谷大学本は「尻田」と翻刻される。知内方面が候補となるが、毒水の話は『蝦夷草紙』の伝聞として記録する。
