『蝦夷草紙』が出羽国村山郡の開墾例として挙げる松原。龍谷大学本は「東根林」、国文学研究資料館本は「本根林」と翻刻される。筆者は開墾初年の不作だけで土地の適性を決められないことを、この事例で説明する。
