『蝦夷藪話』で、奥蝦夷へ錦などの織物をもたらす北方の地域として語られる名称。日本より奥蝦夷に近いとする伝聞に現れる。名称から朝鮮王朝や現代の北朝鮮へ直結させず、大陸側の交易地域を表す筆者の呼称として扱う。
