『蝦夷紀行』でカムカタの難所を越えた後に入る湾。『蝦夷紀行』では船をつなぎ、魚を釣って食べながら潮が静まるのを待つ場所として記す。先頭字は翻刻で「口ヽ」となる箇所もある。
