アベプシ
Ainu「飛火」
apepusmedium
Kayano apepus describes fire jumping or an ember jumping, fitting 飛火. Batchelor Abe-push likewise means the fire jumps. The two joined-form corpus contexts concern the sound of fire crackling. ape pus is an attested spaced variant. apepusu has a different final vowel and means digging up or reviving the hearth fire; its two retrieved contexts concern that action. It does not supply an interchangeable normalization of the source’s シ ending.
