ユー ラㇷ゚（Yu-rap）は「温泉の下る川」の意味。八雲町郷土資料館はユ・ラン・ペツ（yu-ran-pet）という形も紹介している。『北海随筆』のユラツフが川・山・地域のどれを指すかは分かっていない。
