「曲径」

cismedium
Batchelor has a separate Chish noun meaning a steep winding or precipitous path, directly supporting 曲径. The previous reference to crying selected the wrong homonym. The adjacent cikusi is another attested path term; no omitted syllable needs to be invented to explain cis.
Batchelor 1938 s.v. Chish「v.i. To cry. To weep. To sing (as a bird). As:—Chish hawe, “a weeping”; “a crying,” or “wailing.” Chish koro, “weeping,”… / n. A steep winding path. A precipitous path. Syn: Chikaye-chish. Ekaye-chish. Nangashke. Wen-shiri.」(嶮シキ道路), PDF p.90Source passage
