ヤイラプ
アイヌ語「演舌」
Batchelor prints Yairap for an ode or song, supporting the form normalized as yayrap. A connection with 演舌 may involve vocal performance, but the dictionary does not equate a song with a speech. Its accident homonym and Ota’s 新 teaching senses do not settle that meaning. Yairap is retained as the printed historical spelling, with no claim of an independently established early speech sense. Later corpus examples use yayrap for narrative performance; Ainu Times explicitly compares yayerap, yaerap and yayrap. These support a broader performance comparison while leaving the historical 演舌 sense open.
