「吾 われ」

kuanihigh
Kuani is directly attested as “I” and matches the complete recorded クアニ. Tamura describes it as a verse form in Saru, with kani usual in conversation, while noting that kuani is ordinary in many other dialects. That regional description does not make this historical entry a poetic quotation. Corpus examples include modern conversation materials. The older bow-based explanation in the related manuscript is an etymological proposal, not evidence needed to identify the pronoun.
