ベツヱイトコ
Ainu「水源」
Tamura and Kayano attest petetok for a river source and etoko(ho) as a possessed form. Yoshimura’s Mukawa vocabulary directly gives both pet etoko and petetoko for the upper river, while Hiraga’s 1969 narrative uses petetoko with a water-source translation. These support the final vowel and raise the identification to medium. The historical internal ヱイ sequence remains unexplained. Pet etoko removes inherited morpheme hyphens; petetoko is an equally attested joined alternative.
