Batchelor directly records Shi-chuk for mid-autumn, matching 中秋. Modern s/c spelling yields sicuk, with the recorded シイ represented without an added vowel-length distinction. The full sicuk form has no retrieved corpus occurrence. The more frequent sitcuk and sircuk are explicitly “become autumn” in Kayano and Nakagawa and occur in that sense in the inspected contexts. Their extra consonant and different function make them comparisons with limited relevance to the mid-autumn expression.
