イホクシヤモ
Ainu「商人」
Ihok samo accounts for both the trading verb and the recorded シヤモ. Ihok alone denotes trading and leaves シヤモ unrepresented. Ihok sisam is directly documented for a merchant in the NINJAL edition, which also gives samo beside sisam for a Wajin. Ihok samo itself has no corpus match, so the full reconstruction retains low confidence. Ihok kur “merchant” is a documented semantic alternative, but replacing the final element with kur would leave the source kana unexplained. The Japanese 商人 does not itself specify the Wajin sense of the final element.
