Erumun “mouse” and pu “storehouse” support erumunpu as the comparison for イルムンブ, retaining the vowel after r that the inherited ermunpu omits. The initial i/e correspondence remains uncertain; irumunpu tests the written vowel. Fukasawa derives ermunpu from erumunpu and cites Sueoka’s Cancer-cluster identification, which was not independently consulted. Tamura’s shorter ermupu is a constellation name tentatively identified with Orion. The differing forms and figures prevent treating these as a single secure identification. The only ermu pu corpus match says a mouse entered a storehouse and supplies no star-name attestation.
