ヤニ
Ainu「汝」
eanilow
Eani remains a semantic candidate for ヤニ, with an unexplained difference at the beginning. Iani in the 1906 letter edition is a closer comparison, but its editors tentatively relate it to eani. The ten literal yani corpus matches concern landing, “almost,” or imperative expressions; none clearly supplies the independent pronoun here. A shortened or differently heard pronoun is possible, but the source does not establish which development occurred.
