メナシグル
Ainu「東の蝦夷」
menaskurmedium
The recorded shorter menaskur is retained. Tamura gives Menas un kur for people toward Shizunai and Kushiro from Saru, while Hirayama cites the historical shorter メナシクル as 東衆. These support an eastern-group interpretation with regional limits. Menas can also denote a southeast or south wind in Saru; a fixed compass bearing cannot be inferred across all dialects. The expanded menas un kur has dictionary and corpus support, with one bot record repeating the dictionary. It does not prove an unwritten un in this witness.
