Mukawa iutani is directly attested for a pestle. Kayano’s iyutani-nociw identifies the three central Orion stars, while Tamura separately records Iyutani as a female star grouping with a Milky Way narrative. These support the pestle-shaped celestial comparison for 参宿, while the compound evidence and differing star traditions do not fix the exact extent of the historical grouping. Ordinary pestle occurrences alone do not attest the star sense.
