ミチボ
Ainu「孫」
mitpolow
Mitpo is an attested grandchild term and is selected from the previous slash-separated suggestions. The literal micipo remains unverified; Fukasawa explicitly calls it an unattested reconstruction from ミチボ. The チ/t correspondence therefore keeps confidence low even though the meaning fits. Mippo is an attested assimilated variant; Chiri also documents a distinct Sakhalin mici “grandchild,” which does not establish micipo or the older “father’s seed” etymology. The source text is unchanged.
