シコツ
Ainu「窪い」
sikotmedium
Tamura explicitly attests the common noun síkot for a bowl-shaped depression, separately from the place name Sikot. NINJAL also gives sikot “large hollow”. This directly supports the hollow sense behind 窪い; Batchelor’s unrelated “be born” entry does not.
