Nin describes shrinking or decreasing, including the moon; NINJAL explicitly records cup nin for a waning moon. This supports dividing cup nin. The waning phase is compatible with the latter part of a lunar month, but its exact equivalence to the ten-day interval 下旬 remains qualified. Cupnin tests joining. The two corpus matches are the NINJAL dictionary item and a social-media copy of it, supplying one underlying example.
