コタンカラカモイ
Ainu「阿弥陀如来」
Kayano distinguishes kotan-kar-kamuy, the deity who made the Ainu land, from kotan-kor-kamuy, the owl deity. The recorded カラ supports kar. Narrative examples explicitly attest kotan kar kamuy and the joined kotankarkamuy as a creator deity. The spaced reading reflects the village-making expression. Hirayama’s owl comparison uses the different kor form and cannot establish the same identification. 阿弥陀如来 remains a historical religious comparison; the lexical evidence does not equate the creator with Amida.
