Batchelor explicitly includes a sheltered sea bay and sheltered river bend under Moi, supporting moy for 小湾. Tamura, Kayano and Nakagawa describe eddies or sheltered river water. The unresolved Japanese annotation こだ？ does not invalidate the visible 小湾 heading. All six corpus matches were inspected: two are recent place-name proposals, two are interrupted speech, one has the questionable gloss 縁, and NINJAL lists moy; us against 渦巻; 湾. That last row cannot assign its second gloss to its first form. The bay identification rests on the dictionary sense, without counting all six records as bay attestations.
