Lexical interpretation and sources

ムンベ「露」munpe

Interpretation confidence: medium

Batchelor explicitly glosses Mun-pe as dew, supporting 露. Munpe follows the joined spelling used in modern lexical notation. Tamura uses munpe for grass sap and distinguishes kinape as dew, so that modern sense alone would not validate the historical gloss. NINJAL corpus record ninjal-dict/061#14 also gives munpe for dew. Kinape is a meaning comparison with different sounds.

Batchelor 1938 s.v. Mun-pe「n. Dew. Syn: Kinape.」 (p.308); 田村すず子 1996 s.v. munpe「草の汁(無色の)。…」
