アキ

Ainu

「弟」

akihigh
Aki is the documented possessed form of ak “younger brother” and directly matches アキ. The final i is retained; historical キ can also represent final k, so ak remains a grammatical alternative. Corpus hits also contain the personal name Aki and unsplit verbal sequences; those are excluded as semantic evidence. Examples of ku=aki and akihi support the kinship analysis. A bare family label cannot determine who the possessor is.
Tamura 1996 s.v. ak「うつ(弓/鉄砲で射る、 撃つ)。… / (所は aki(hi) アキ(ヒ))弟。…」, aki(hi)「(概は ak アㇰ)…の弟。…」; Kayano 1996 s.v. aki(hi)「アキ(ヒ) 【/aki(hi)】(〜の)弟.…」; Nakagawa 1995 s.v. ak; Chiri, Human II §024(1); Hirayama 2013 part 3 s.v. アキ「① 弟;② 弟 (アキ)」Source passage
