Numan “yesterday” is independently documented and matches 昨日. It is retained as the modern comparison. The source ends in ニ; numani tests that written vowel, and no whole-form corpus match was found. The lexical identification is well supported, while interpreting historical ニ as modern final n remains a normalization hypothesis. The companion extract also prints ヌマニ but supplies modern numan; this is dependent comparison material.
