The source clearly records テイネトイ, and Tamura’s teyne wet plus toy soil explains the phrase. NINJAL explicitly gives teyne toy for wet soil/mud, supporting word separation. Its one corpus record duplicates that dictionary entry. NINJAL’s modern edition adds transcription and elicited speech to an 1898 base; the corpus’s 1898 label does not date this modern representation.
