The facsimile shows a small circle beside the marked ツ in the preserved イビツ゚シル transcription. Hirayama prints the different イビトッシル and compares Ipichi bare plus sir land. Modernized ipici sir is therefore a semantic alternative, but neither the marked syllable nor the full compound has been securely identified. ipitu sir/ipitusir are provisional comparisons if the marked kana represents tu; that value is not established from this image alone. ipitsir remains a guess. Ota’s atusanupuri and epitcenupuri are explicitly marked 新 and are excluded as historical identifications.
