Hampe directly matches ハンベ “father.” Chiri records it in Chikabumi, Ebeotsu, Nayoro and Teshio; Batchelor’s Hambe is an older spelling of the comparison. The modern m before p makes the nasal place explicit without changing the recorded kana. Corpus contexts include “father and mother” and Ishikari teaching materials.
