Po is directly documented for a son or child and matches this source’s 子供. Nakagawa includes daughters as well as sons. The modern spelling omits the source’s length mark; that normalization does not establish the historical vowel duration. Corpus counts also include po “still more” and song syllables, which do not attest a child noun. Poho is the related possessive form and is separately recorded as ボホ on this line.
