シシヤム
Ainu「人」
sisammedium
Sisam is documented as “Wajin”, fitting the recorded kana and the neighbouring ethnic labels. The Japanese heading 人 is broader, so the modern reading should not be presented as a generic word for every human. Tamura distinguishes this ethnonym from the differently accented sisam “beside oneself”; the accent-folded corpus count includes both. The original heading and its paired カナ variant are preserved.
