「男子」

okkaypohomedium
The two small-print columns form one recorded alternative. Batchelor gives the complete Okkai-poho for a male child or son. Okkaypoho retains the final ホ. Tamura distinguishes okkaypo, a young man, from okkayopo, a son. The historical entry gives no syntax to settle possession or the precise relationship among these forms. The exact modern-spelling corpus match is a 2020 Upopoy exhibit text. Old-spelling okkai poho also occurs in Bible material catalogued as 1897; three aligned passages support the male-child or son sense. These later witnesses do not independently date the reading to 1792.
